Rev. Marc Salkin, D. Min.
Parish Minister

Rev. Marc SalkinMarc Salkin received his B.A. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City and his Master of Theological Studies/Doctor of Ministry from Meadville/Lombard Theological School, which is affiliated with the University of Chicago. Upon graduation from seminary, Marc was called as the spiritual leader of the Unitarian Association in Mexico City, where he served for two years. In 1975, Marc went to the San Diego UU Church, where he served with the Rev. John Clark this large and growing congregation. In 1978, Marc was called to serve the historic church of Watertown, Massachusetts, which was founded in 1630. During his tenure in Watertown, Marc led the church in celebrating its 350th anniversary. Marc served the Watertown church for 13 years before his call to Fort Collins. In 1991, Marc was called to serve the Foothills Unitarian Church. Marc’s leadership and gentle style of ministry is an integral component to the growth of the Foothills Church, and his warm and supportive nature, not to mention his great sense of humor, are hallmarks of his ministry with us.

Rev. Gretchen Haley
Assistant Minister

Gretchen Haley Rev. Gretchen Haley comes to Foothills having just completed a 2 year consulting ministry at Two Rivers Unitarian Universalist, a congregation serving the Roaring Fork and Colorado River valleys. While there, her ministry focused on strengthening congregational identity, growing Unitarian Universalist faith formation, clarifying connections between justice and spiritual practice, and helping members grow their spiritual tool kit. Gretchen was ordained by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder in January 2012, the congregation where she first experienced a call to UU ministry, and where she completed her internship in 2010. Prior to seminary, Gretchen worked as the founding employee and Director of Operations for Options Home Care Services, an in-home personal care agency that grew to serve over 700 elderly and disabled individuals across three states over the course of her nearly 8 years with the organization. Before that, she was trained in the theatre, where she worked primarily as a director and dramaturge for performances that usually held the humble goals of individual and communal transformation. All these things seem in retrospect like the perfect steps that would lead here, to Foothills Unitarian Church as the assistant minister - and she looks forward to the ongoing adventure of the spirit that awaits us all in our path of shared ministry. Gretchen and her partner of 13 years, Carri, have two children, Gracie Ella (7) and Josef (4), and enjoy going to the zoo and the park, getting too many books at the library, and as a family of extroverts - chatting with friends and family at every possible chance.
