YRUU (High School Youth)

Welcome to Youth Ministry at Foothills

As Young Religious Unitarian Universalists (YRUU) we strive to recognize the divine in all beings, including ourselves, and explore how to live our values in the world. We do this through worship, community building, leadership development, faith and spiritual exploration, service, and fun.

Youth group meets regularly September – May at 11:00 in the Religious Education Building and has special programming in the summer. Youth help to design the program around their interests and needs and then either facilitate the activities themselves or invite in guests. Several times a year we are also involved with the main church services. In addition to regular youth group meetings we have various activities throughout the year including service projects and actions, movie and social nights, and interfaith and multigenerational activities.

Allison Fink serves as Youth Ministry Coordinator and can be reached at allison@foothillsuu.org or 970-402-7297.

District Cons
Youth conferences are supported by the District and allow youth from across several states to get together for a weekend of fellowship, workshops and worship. Conferences help create a stronger bond between the youth, offer leadership opportunities and provide youth with a connection to the larger UU community.

Cluster Cons
Cluster Cons are conferences for regions of the district. They are similar in structure to district cons but allow for smaller group interaction, and more local youth leadership and creativity. There is one con per cluster per year that is supported by the district but clusters are encouraged to have other events as well.
