What to expect on your first visit

Come as You Are! When preparing to come to a service for the first time, feel free to come as you are most comfortable. Our 500+ members are quite diverse! Some people prefer to get dressed up, while others are very casual. This "come as you are" atmosphere extends beyond mere clothing. We welcome everyone regardless of any prior or current religious affiliation (or none as the case may be!).

Parking

You may access either parking lot from Yorktown Avenue. The East lot is a level entrance to the church, while the West lot requires a bit of a climb.

Before The Service

Our regular services begin at 9:30 over the summer, but we suggest you arrive a bit early and stop by the Visitor’s Table and get a nametag. At the Visitor’s Table you will find a brochure with information about our church as well as other reading materials, and friendly church members who can answer any questions you might have. You may also sign up for a complimentary trial subscription to our newsletter, The Intercom. This publication is mailed monthly and will keep you informed of church activities and upcoming sermons.

A “Joys and Concerns” book is placed near the entrance to the sanctuary. Anyone wishing to share an important event in their lives or the lives of their loved ones or community may do so. During each service, a candle is lit for both “Joys” and “Concerns” and the entries in the book are shared with the congregation. Visitors are welcome to participate in this ritual.

Hearing enhancement devices and large-print orders of service of are available every Sunday. Please ask an usher to help you with any special accommodations you may require.
